Overview

Ever After Jewelry Co., located in Disney Springs, went through a redesign to focus on selling plush, accessories, and collectibles. The store, now called Disney Ever After, explores themes of cuteness, color, and tactility while engaging its audience. A special focus towards rolling out the Create Your Own Headband program, where guests could customize a unique ear headband featuring their favorite Disney and Pixar characters.

Approach

To engage a younger audience, the store was tasked to be flexible to showcase new product as it came out. The result of this was to create “color stories” throughout the store, focusing on small booth-like displays grouping similarly themed product together. The store also relies on the cuteness of emojis, emphasizing their fun expressions and bright colors. These emojis were chosen, adapted, and grouped together to tell a story in each booth.

Adapting Emojis

Several emojis were requested that did not exist in the artwork library; they had to be reverse engineered based on existing character art and other emojis with similar shapes and colors. Similarly, the signs above each awning had to be designed to mesh well with the other emojis in the store, while still being colorful and unique to each booth.

Create Your Own Headband

One of the most exciting programs to bring to the new store was Create Your Own Headband; this allowed guests to customize ears with their favorite Disney or Pixar plush characters. This popular product premiered here for the first time on the East coast and was an immediate success.

Despite the similar look, character artwork between this program and the emoji artwork are different. Utilizing different background colors and font helped to separate the program from the store identity.

In the Details

While designing the graphics, minor details were incorporated to push the storytelling and magic of the store. The display bin for plush was wrapped to look like a carousel, similar to the one in Magic Kingdom. The horses on the carousel were designed to represent different princesses - can you guess which ones?
