Overview

The project’s objective was to create a relevant and conceptual title sequence for a film using animated elements, powerful imagery, and storytelling. The sequence for Knives Out highlights the suspense of traditional murder mysteries while also showcasing the film’s unique characters and modern twists. 


Approach

Bringing in both traditional and modern details from mysteries was key. Utilizing old Victorian silhouettes and photographic cutouts that emulate the look of ransom notes brought a classic feel to each character while also showcasing their unique personality from the film. Also, the intense soundtrack paired with the quick movements of the animations reflects the twists and suspense in the plot.
